I get it. You have a lot to do. And it starts with leaving your warm, comfy cozy bed. That is the first step. Actually, the first step is to get a good night’s sleep. Getting a good night’s sleep will allow you to wake up fully refreshed and relaxed so that you can EASILY get out of that cozy bed. It feels undesirable, but it can get easier. We know there is the morning to-do stuff, such as making the bed, getting ready for work, eating, taking care of pets, taking care of kids, taking care of your spouse, and so on. Hopefully, they are helping to take care of you as well.
But it’s essential to take care of yourself before you start taking care of everyone and everything else. Start on the right foot and develop a morning habit or ritual. It could be stretching, meditation, gratitude, prayer, exercise, or even just drinking a glass of water.
If you don’t have a morning ritual, I can’t recommend it enough. It helps create a positive start and allows you to start the day as your best self. Maybe a ritual is too much. Perhaps it can be more organic. Some days might involve exercise, and others might include meditation. A routine is just about staying in touch with yourself and giving yourself what you need, which can change daily.
